So I had a conversation with a gal at work today. She was under the impression that the guy had no chance of cashing in any of the higher denom chips from the Bellagio Robbery because the RFID would be able to identify the specific chips that were stolen from the craps game.
I agreed that there was very little chance of being able to redeem the chips, but disagreed with her reasoning.
It is my understanding that RFID'd chips have the tag to identify them as a denomination. For example a $5000 chip. They do not have the capability of identifying individual chips. For example chip number 22430596 which is a $5000 chip.
Am I mistaken on the RFID technology?
Thanks,
Tom H.
