A buyer may have just shelled out $100 for a chip that he or she had to dig deep for; perhaps passing on something else that $100 could have bought (or helped pay a utility/car payment)... and then learn that the the seller is offering that same chip (Jerry's example) at a lesser price. That hurts, too... especially when the seller doesn't even attempt to contact the earlier buyer(s) and make an adjustment/credit -- or something.
