I went to my metal detector club meeting last nite and they mentioned that there was a Civil War show going on this weekend here in Nashville. Since I had no plans I went to the show today and was pleasantly surprised at how many dealers were there (it was full). In fact, they filled 900 tables. There were more guns than at most gun shows I have gone to. Not a lot of antiques (other than Civil War related) but I did get a very nice piece of Roseville for $45, three $.50 pieces for several bucks under melt price and these two ivories for $20 each. There were two other dealers that had ivories for sale but most of them looked like the cheap reproduction stuff you see on ebay all the time and they wanted $50-$100 each. I don't really collect ivories, know very little about them and don't even have a price guide on them. I may be wrong but at least I felt that these are old since they appear worn and dirty. So are these the very common ones or did I find nicer ones? What are they worth? Don't worry you won't insult me with the truth - if they are worth only $5 each it still is not big loss.
