Not a hole - but the Diamond in the mold design at the top of the chip is made of some kind of claer material that you can actually see thru the Diamond. This makes it look like a hole in the scan - all of the e2 chips I have are the same, but the other value chips are all normal.
I have never seen a chip like this before.
