Your attribution for this comment in your post is both misleading and incorrect.
By attributing the comment to 'From Chicago SunTimes' rather than the correct 'From letters to the editor, Chicago SunTimes' you are implying that the comment is from a SunTimes columnist or editorial piece, thus giving it much more weight and credence than it deserves.
Even after following the link and rereading the comment, I was still under the impression that it was actually a SunTimes editorial comment, until I looked for the name of the columnist. Only then did I realize that it was posted in Letters to the Editor.
While the fact that the SunTimes chose to print the letter does imply some approval of the comment, that is still nowhere near the import that the comment would carry if made in a SunTimes editorial piece.
Yeah, I know, picky, picky, picky. But what else I got to do?
