Concerning this chip.
Just heard back from the library in Kansas City.
Afraid it was not much help.
OT
I heard back from the KC library. They sent snips from the 1933 and 1934 city directory for Jack Johnson. Unfortunately the info hasn't led me any closer to figuring out who our Jack Johnson is or where the chips may have been used.
1933—
(Jack the truck driver was arrested in 1920 age 22 for selling a stolen shotgun to a known bootlegger and gambler)
1934--
Jack W., the guy with the bar/liquor store at 12th & Vine, shows up in '34, but when the chips were ordered prohibition was still going; don't know what he was doing in 1933)
Maybe something will turn-up; KC's a very interesting place at the time the chips were ordered.
My note: My hunch still stands.
I think it went to the liquor store at 1600 E. 12th. I just can’t list it that way.
