While trying to find a Club name from Trimble's challenge in an earlier post, I was bouncing around the Internet and came across this very interesting article about illegal Clubs outside Palm Springs in the late 40's and early 50's.

Mentioned were 3 Clubs, 2 of which have entries in Dick Staeffler's Memorial California Guide; the Cove and One Thirty Nine clubs. However, the principal club of the article, "The Dunes", was not listed in the Guide.

Perhaps the chips burned with the Club? Hmmmm....
