...I had to come up with a strategy to get the chip and, of course, Mr. Hughes was of no help at all, since he flat-out refused to give me ANY hints as to what the chip was and also told me that he wouldn't sell me one. I also had a home game to get to (which I made in PLENTY of time).
I think I guessed correctly what the chip was.
I actually fleshed out my strategy while I was on the phone with Andy couple of weeks ago. It would only work on the very first hand and everything had to fall into place: I had to get dealt a crappy hand... I had to tell everyone my intentions of trying to lose all-in the first hand... I had to tell everyone what I had prior to making the bet... I had to have exactly one caller.
It fell into place when I got dealt 8-2 off and Doc behind me had 9-5 of hearts. When a bunch of high cards fell on the flop I was seriously worried about chopping, which would have left me with MORE than 1500 in chips, which would have meant that even had I gone all in the next hand, I would not have busted since I would have had everyone covered. Luckily a 9 fell on the river and I had my chip and Doc had a double-up.
