Jim, You are quoting the hotel room section of the law, I don't think that applies to convention areas. If there are slot machines in the convention area then it becomes part of the casino floor and yes smoking could be allowed. As far as the slot attendent telling you the law, that's who I would depend on. Most were lawyers before they became slot attendants.
