Same for me, although I have to admit that in the UK where the casinos are non-smoking (because of the no-smoking-in-public-enclosed-places laws) I do prefer the cleaner air. But when I visit Vegas like you I expect some smoke occasionally and as long as someone isn't holding a cigarette right under my nose then the casinos tend to be big enough that the smoke doesn't seem to linger too long.
As far as the convention is concerned, I don't think it would stop me attending, but I do know that for some people who do smoke that a long break without smoking can be tough and so for dealers who need to man their tables it would be good if there could be somewhere close by, even if not in the main hall, where they could smoke.
I guess we are probably not a big enough event to be able to make any casino change their rules for us - we should though make it clear to everyone well before the event what exactly the rules are, just to be fair for everyone.
