This is a repost of a FIRST-HAND factual response I received, directly from South Point, several months ago which says in part ...:
NEVADA CLEAN INDOOR AIR ACT (NRS 202.2491)
1. By Nevada State Law, smoking is prohibited in indoor public spaces. As a result, all rooms in the Conference Center and Exhibit Hall are designated as non-smoking. The Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act does not provide exemption for private events; therefore, any person or groups utilizing these areas for a closed event are subject to compliance with the regulation.
I don't have a problem with the club's position taken at the 2010 convention, or South Point's stated policy. Those who have a problem with it, should take up the issue with the Nevada legislature. (Just one man's opinion.... that our club President did not "lie".)
