"DEM" refers to Deutsche Marks, or German Marks, the currency of Western Germany, then Germany from 1948-2002. It appears to be a sample or a canceled chip from or ostensibly for a casino in Germany.

I tried Google, but didn't find any reference to a Lido Casino in Germany. Sorry
