Hi Andy,
WOW!!! What a find, if it turns out to be the real thing...and I hope it does!
Have you, by any chance, contacted Dwayne Kling? He wrote the book "The Rise of the Biggest Little City". He says that the Barboot Coffee House and Casino introduced the game of barbouti to Reno when they opened on November 24, 1965. Kling describes the game as being "...played on a table similar to a regulation craps table, although the layout was considerably different." He says the game never caught on in Reno, and the Barboot Casino closed after just a few weeks.
Kling was living in Reno, working at Harold's Club in 1965 when the Barboot Coffee House and Casino was open. He has spent years researching Reno casinos and gambling...and just might have a picture of a barboot table...??? I believe Mark Englebretson has his contact information.
You've done some great work on the El Rey...and I'm waiting for the book!
