my old Canon flat-bed scanner used to sit vertical between my monitor & PC. I have an Epson all-in-one & it does NOT do the bright colors well (neither did my Canon flat-bed scanner). My new (refurbished) Epson V30 flat-bed scanner now actually sits on top of my all-in-one (which is relegated to solely printing duties). When my Epson all-in-one dies, I'm going back to just a plain ol' printer in conjunction with the flat-bed scanner.

If you buy an all-in-one, no matter the brand...YOU'LL BE SORRY!!!
