OK So I went to the library today to check out Wm. Buchanan and his 106 Vee Belt address. I looked in the old phone books from 1963 on since there was a zipcode on the order and they started that year. Well there are lots of W. Buchanan's but none at that address. A check of taverns and criss cross indexes show that ther just isn't any Vee Belt in Nashville. I am getting really frustrated and don't know where to turn. Well let's try a few old maps to see if they changed the name of the road. I got 3 from the 1960's and 1970's. First two show nothing but the last one has a Vee Belt but it is in Hendersonville (a northern suburb) not Nashville. The street is a short block long and all I know about the property from my computerrs tax records is that the house was built in 1963 so the time is right. I didn't have enough time to go to the state library today to do further research but the county tax records should show if Buchanan lived there and the phone directories should show where he worked in the 1960's. I have no idea why he had a downtown Nashville zipcode unless they shrunk the areas over the years and issued more numbers.
