I email the seller and tell him that I'd be a buyer at $xxx and if the item doesn't sell ask him to repost as a "Buy it Now" at my price. That doesn't cheat eBay out of a commission. A couple of times the seller has just said he's sell hit direct if the current auction closes without a bid... his suggestion, not mine .
