According to a report on the Casino City Times website (See below) Landry Restaurants which owns the Golden Nugget casino hotels in Las Vegas and Laughlin is reportedly seeking to acquire the Hilton Casino Resort in Atlantic City in the event that it's mortgage company takes control of the property from current owner Colony Capital which also formerly owned Resorts at the other end of the boardwalk. If Landry's is successful they will rebrand the property to the Golden Nugget brand which was the property's original name from 1980 to 1987 when it was owned by Las Vegas casino developer Stephen Wynn who later exited from the Atlantic City market selling the casino to Bally's Manufacturing.
