I did not know that you could play in the tourney's with a day pass or bid in the silent auctions. I was told 2 years in a row that I could 'under no circumstances' attend either without being a club member.
That should be more clear.
I guess I'm confused as to the point of the club then. You say would I want to be on a board run by a club? would they allow prayer posts, etc. Why wouldn't they? I was always under the impression that a club was to bring a group of people together with similar interests. Does it stop there? Do clubs not try to help each other? the community? Why would I be offended if members posted family pictures? Would I not enjoy them?
I get the point that there is a line, but the authority of chips and chip related items should be the CCGTCC. And I feel that their voice is muffled at best. I think it should be more than it is.
One last time. I get that people are upset with my posts to Diana, but there was NOTHING negative to her. IT was good advice. If she didn't answer phone calls or emails and put the chips on ebay, she would make the most cash, and have the less drama. It realized it would ruffle some feather and here we are. I now feel like a wiser person for what was posted above. Had I known it two years ago, you would have seen me in the tournaments and auctions and I might even be a member again.
Contrary to your opinion, I do want chipping to continue and I want nothing more than to walk into the Museum of Gaming History...and that's kind of why i did this. That's wherre my collection is heading when I die, assuming it's an actual building and not paper when i die. I want this to come out in the open. I want people to talk about it and figure out a new way of getting members and revenue to the club. I don't want what happened to me several years ago and my friends last week and everyone else that has been confused and felt stupid after visiting this site to happen again. I want outsiders to feel welcomed and comfortable. If I confuse one person along the way will it be worth it? Ask Diana if she felt threatened, hurt, insulted by my responses.
I don't care if you like my theatrics or 'sword to the throat' approach as long as it gets the job done.
