It seems to me that the hobby is in a cross-roads, as are many collectors hobbies. It remains to be seen how the hobby fares after the economy rebounds, especially considering the age factor that has been noted many times before (for those who are fairly new to the hobby, it has concerned some for awhile that the average age of chip collectors is fairly high) and the reports we have seen that it appears that younger generations are not big collectors in the way that the older generations were. What the truth is will greatly affect the value of all casino chips, and certainly limited edition chips. Either this is a time of great bargains or a sign of things to come. Personally, I am a small-potato's collector and collect for the love of it. Still, it's nice to see some chips raise in value, and not to see the bottom drop out.
I don't see how anyone can give you an authoritative response right now, but maybe I'm wrong.
