I have been reading about old computers that are getting "bogged" down on the forum. I surely know very little compared to a computer Geek.
Many times the slowness of your computer has nothing to do with your internal makings....hard drive.
Try either resetting or downloading once again your current web browser. If you have IE try Firefox or Google Chrome. I have found that both browsers listed are much faster than my IE which I hardly ever use anymore.
Downloading Firefox for me was like getting a new computer. Now I also downloaded Google Chrome which I really like. My main desktop is an 8 year old Gateway and browsers take up hardly any space. So don't worry about downloading a new browser if you have an old computer.
I am sure other people on the board use even other browsers. Opera and Apple's Safari to name two more. Try a new browser and tell me if your computer runs a lot faster. Many people think the computer is slow because the browser doesn't respond fast enough. Downloading a new browser takes just a minute if that.
I hope I added a good tip for the fellow chippers on this board and haven't confused anyone.
As long as you keep your current browser and download a new and proven one you can not do any harm to your computer. I would not go wipe out your current browser as when you download your new browser it will ask if you want to import all your bookmarks. You can either start fresh or say yes and get all your old bookmarks over to your new and faster browser.
