So upon my mention of the words AWFUL AWFUL, there were a group of camera operators who made it to the Nugget for lunch. All of them came back with AWFUL grins! It was a huge hit, so thank you to all of you who mentioned the AWFUL AWFUL.
Nevada won a barn burner over Cal in a game that wasn't as close as the 52-31 score might have you believe. And apparently, if you stayed and watched the interview with Colin Kaepernick, Nevada's quarterback, I got a TON of face time trying to hold back a VERY intoxicated student body who ran on the field, then tried to mob their quarterback when he was being interviewed on ESPN. So from what I've heard, if you watch the on-field interview they did live after the game, I am to the camera left. I didn't find this out until after the game when the satellite guy announced to the entire crew when we were enjoying some slices of post-game pizza that the broadcast was looking just fine until MY MUG made it on camera. But the entire experience was a complete blast! I hope I get many more chances to do road trips like that again!
So thank you SO MUCH for all the people who chimed in and gave me some great ideas on things to do in Reno. I unfortunately didn't have time to shop for chips or eat a great steak dinner at the Basque Restaurant behind Harrah's. But I will keep them on my Reno list, and if I get called there to do the Nevada/Boise State game in a few months, I may go down a day early and take you up on your recommendations. So again, thank you all very very much. Regards, Cale
P.S. I do have some chips on sale with auctions ending in the next few days. Feel free to follow the bouncing link to my EBAY page and spend your life savings on my chips! Thank you very much, and best of luck.
