I only saw them used with slot tokens. Each of them held 20 tokens and they were given out to the players in exchange for a $20 bill that way. I assume the larger one was for a $5 slot tokens. You used to see them setting around the slot machines all the time. The solid red ones are less common than the clear ones - I think.
