"In Trade"

The "In Trade" legend was often used in early Montana clubs for deniability, although they were used as poker chips. Thought was that so long as they said "in trade," it could be argued that they were merchants' (or bar) trade tokens, not gambling paraphernalia.

It was a subterfuge, though - everyone knew what they were being used for.
