Hello everyone! As of last night, I am happy and proud to call myself a dues-paying member of the club!
My name is Kyle, and I've been collecting chips for the past 7 years or so. It all started when my wife (then girlfriend) went to Vegas with her family, and asked what I wanted for a souvenir. Unaware that casino chip collecting was even a real thing, I told her to grab a $1 chip from every casino she visited for me. So, the sweetheart she is, she brought me back chips from the three casinos featured in my favorite movie at the time, the Ocean's 11 remake (Bellagio, Mirage and MGM Grand). She also brought back a Flamingo chip from where she was staying, and a Caesar's Palace from across the street.
Ever since, I've been hooked. I nab a chip from every casino I visit, and ask my friends and family to do the same.
My immediate goals are to collect every $1 and $5 chip (new and obsolete) from my home state of Minnesota, and a $1 chip from every Vegas casino that has been open during my lifetime. I also nab the occasional chip that feature golf (my favorite sport), as well as prop or replica chips from my favorite movies.
As a special treat, here's a chip I found at the Minnesota State Fair today. A local casino had a blackjack table where they were giving out this pink NCV chip to people who won a hand (and even to people that didn't). It's good for a 2-for-1 seafood buffet. My wife and I each got a chip, and the interesting thing is, one chip had dashes all the way around the inlay, and one of them was missing a few dashes.
Anyways, here they are... enjoy! And thanks for letting me in your great organization!
