as a visitor. Our family group stayed at Ballys and Paris earlier this month and so it should have been ideal to use to go between casinos, but having used it once before just to ride to both ends and back which was fun, if we wanted to use it to go just one stop either way to say the MGM where we went a couple of times, it was really expensive for short trips, so we just used cabs instead.

I didn't know locals could use it for just $1 - good idea, and we would have used it as a family group several times if that was the fare too. At the current prices, it will remain a tourist attraction for visitors rather than a useful method of travel along the strip.
