I was never a fan of the monorail plan. They could have done the whole project so much cheaper. I know it started out as the Bally's - MGM Monorail. However, they could have built light rail with a separate grade on the existing right of way for probably 1/3 the cost if not less. Plus monorail systems are hard to expand and expensive to operate.
