Re: NCR: Combination Printers & Scanners

After going through 6 plus moths of hassles with HP after purchasing one of their "All In One Systems", and having it replaced with 2 other similiar units, I can say that for the most part, they are NOT worth the money, time, effort, nor frustration. After contacting the BBB, I finally got a full refund for the piece of cr*p that I currently have (but can only use it to purchase another HP product - and it WILL not be an all in one unit!).

Spend the extra money and get a flat bed scanner that does nothing else but scan! Also, from my experience, the printers wear out much quick than a scanner will, and if you do get an all in one unit, you will eventually have to purchase a new printer anyway. Low end printers are fairly in-expensive these days - and are made to be tossed when broken. Most companies try to make money of the ink cartridges as opposed to the printers.

The problem with the 'all in one units' is that they do not pick up hues of pink, orange and red (among other colors) very well if at all. It seems that the people wou make casino chips and the people who make scanners need to talk with each other!

Hope this helps. I would not want you to go through what I did in trying to get something that will work for the money you spend.
