I've use the Virgin Mobile prepaid cellular service for a number of years. Cost is 25c a minute for USA calls with no monthly fee. Calls to their information service are free and they dial the call for you. You must spend at least $10 a month on calls and they automatically charge your credit card monthly or when you run out of minutes. Prepaid minutes carry over forever. Nice service for those who don't spend much time on the cell phone. You pay for your own phone but they offer low end phones cheap. I recently replaced my 10 year old Kyocera with a LG flip phone for $19. They use the Sprint PCS system so your service works wherever Sprint is in the USA.
