If you are receiving "Help, I'm stranded in Europe" emails from chippers, it is NOT because they post here on TheChipBoard. While it may look like TheChipBoard is the common denominator, chances are Facebook, or your email account has been hacked.
Just ask Reggie Gummer, or any of the other chippers that have had their contact lists compromised if it was a simple matter of just sending out emails to the people here. I believe you will find that these people have had their email accounts and/or Facebook accounts hacked and their passwords changed. They then could no longer get to their own accounts, while the hacker used their contacts list to send out the bogus emails and actually receive the replies.
I strongly suggest that everyone use good password protection, as follows:
1. 8 characters or more.
2. Use at least 1 uppercase character and one special character
3. Change it every 90 days
4. Do NOT email it to anyone
5. If you write it down, do NOT do so in a file on your computer (or on the computer)
Tis better to be safe than sorry!
