The reverse of the thing is even more strange!

Wouldn't you think the two sides would be the same...?? At least with one side having an opening in the back, I can say for sure that they aren't playing cards!

The pictures are just a smidge bigger than a playing card, and seem to be just heavy-ish paper, blank on the back. The "frames" are lightweight cardboard (card stock?) with fine gold glitter around the edges. The non-church picture has a plastic piece (acetate?) covering over it. I think that at some point it was water damaged...or maybe hung in a steamy bathroom.
