Re: Did Danny Nason run the Paddock?

Danny would have been 17-18 when the Nason's took over the Paddock Club in 1940-43.

He was just breaking in at the Walk A Show in 1940. He pretty much stayed there moving up to manager until Kevfauver closed it in 1951.

The Nasons did not have live gaming nor chips at The Paddock. Only a race wire and a sports book. The Nasons are the ones that introduced the race wire to the area and pretty much controlled it.

Danny went to Beverly Hills in 1951 as a pit manager.
He moved onto the Desert Inn, LV as a pit manager in 1959 when the Nason's foresaw the beginning of the end for the area illegals. He beat the N KY airlift by a couple years. He was able to help many N Ky dealers/boxmen/pit bosses find work in 1961.

Danny was good friends with Sammy Schrader. Enough said!! vbg
