The Chip Rack also has 1980 as the Imperial Palace opening, and 1978 as the Flamingo Capri closing, so I suspect the chip was somehow incorrect?

You could also see if Tom Jones on the Caesars billboard only played certain dates at that time (if there is such a website that tracks such things?)
