The Chip Board Archive 20

Thanks very much Don !

Many people forget they have the ability to convert their present chip listing to a tab delimeted file and import the collection. As you mentioned, there will still be the fact that data would have to be entered by hand for any fields that you aren't already using.

Using the copy/paste feature to copy item listings from the built in database refernce is a handy way of getting all of the fields and items populated. With of course, the exception of two important fields: Value and Condition.

Even though TCR guys, Archie Black, Greg Susong have given permission to use their chip id numbering for all chips, the program does not utilize any values from their price guides. Obviously we needed to also leave the condition field blank.

The other important side of a good program is the reports. I was so pleased to see all of the collection books walking around the convention this year. Once I started doing this myself, the number of dupkicate chips I bought all but disappeared.

Then there's the ability to save as a pdf file, which can be great for people with smart phones or webpages.

Back years ago, I too used Checkmate. Not only did it not give control over anything, the owners refused to make any improvements at all. Nothing. I don't even think they sell it anymore.

Thanks very much for the report and the two thumbs up rating!
