I don't think I stated my true opinion.
"attributed to" IMO should be a red flag! I am strongly against "attributed to" to in guide books. It either "is" or it "isn't."
"attributed to" in the guide books has caused many newer collectors to waste their money.
I know the new authors of TCR have taken a considerable amount of questionable chips and some "attributed to" out of the latest edition. They deserve credit for doing this.
Our hobby is not the same as coin collecting. Coins in most cases have country of orgin and mint date on them. Our hobby depends a lot on the research of our members and our authors. Unfortunately we have sellers that would say anything to sell chips. Far too many of these sellers have managed to get questionable chips in the guide books over the years, IMO.
