Several years ago, when Harrah's Joliet was still on the two boats, I was playing roulette.
I was betting on black and it kept coming up red.
I bet $310 and lost.
A guy comes to the table. One side of his shirt is hanging out, his hair is mussed, he's drooling on himself, and not walking very well. Very obviously drunk.
He tries to get a $5 chip with two ones and a bunch of change. The dealer says he needs all bills, no change. The guy wanders away.
I bet $630 and lost.
The drunk comes back with five wadded up $1 bills and gets his $5 chip which he puts on red.
I take a deep breath and put $1,270 on black.
Even in Vegas, betting over $1,000 on one spin will get you noticed.
So now that I've got EVERYONE'S attention! The drunk turns to me, gets right in my face, and says very loud: "You FOOL! You're betting against the RED KING!"
The wheel spins, comes up black, and before I've pulled in my $2,540 the drunk has slipped away from the table and vanished into the crowd.
SO, what's your story?
P.S. in twelve years I've made that bet three times. The other two times I lost.
