My first Harvesting Trip with Barry H who was my Gardian Angel, introduced me around and made sure I always had something to do and someone to eat with.
Attended my first trade session- next time I bring my books in a wheeled bag as carrying the books was tough
Played in the Poker tournament - finished respectable in the top third of the room and had fun. Just didn't want to be the first one knocked out.
Hanging at the Splashbar - Brian watched out for me a bit and introduced me to a lot of club members. Got to meet and hang with Tammy and Dawn and some of the other ladies too. Although I'm a bit of a light weight when it comes to drinking these days and I missed the BJ Tournament for a well needed nap after a night at the bar.
My first Banquet: Awards were very nice, speaker was good and entertaining. My heart went out to the Susong family and those closest to Greg.
Met my Fellow Octagon Collectors: Andy, Jim K, Wayne, Steve, Lee, Chuck, Jim F, Fred, Lee Albert to name a few. Missed meeting Malcolm but there's always next year. Andy, so glad I got to see you there. Cant wait until next year when we do the Octagonal display! Now we need to work on those octagon personals which I am very excited about. Looking forward to spending more time with you next year.
Picked up some great octagons: a special thanks to David S. and Mark F as I picked up a lot more than I expected.
Volunteered at Registration and met and made some new friends: Had lunch with Mia who was also attending solo and I hope to see again next year.
Playing at the tables/slots with Barry, Ricky, John and Shoop was fun too...won a few bucks and hit a straight flush. Ricky, we'll have to try the slots again next year.
Chipboard Gathering was great...overwhelming as it was the first time I met most attending and I was struggling to remember the names and faces...thank goodness for the name tags!
Lots and Lots more...I cant even believe how much we squeeze into a relatively short stay. I may need to sleep for a week as I dont think I slept at all the first three days.
