Re: Man poker player in drag?
In Response To: Man poker player in drag? ()

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with "special" tournaments that have some type of demographic requirements. I'd limit the ladies' tournament to ladies only. They didn't have any "youngsters" trying to make some obscure point by entering the Seniors event. What about the Casino Employees event, the tournament that opens the WSOP? Should that be open to anyone? If so, why? On a level that hits closer to home, should our club tourney be open to non-members?

Events like these are in a sense, discriminatory, but are not in any way malicious in the intent of their entry requirements.

In the litigious society in which we live today, some things have gotten patently ridiculous as to who will push the envelope in the name of so-called rights, and all too often, the folks involved in conducting such events are too afraid of being sued to do anything. We have reached a point where feigning being "offended" by something (just about anything) is a solid reason to involve lawyers, courtrooms and trials. That is downright sick! Nobody has a "right" to not be offended by something....at least not in a free society.
