What you mention is just part of the problem with A/C.
Naturally they want to maximize profits but they are doing it at the expense of losing long time loyal customers.
They would rather give a room to someone that comes once a year that might or might not spend money than to look out after those that are their bread and butter the rest of the year.

For the first time in 20 years, I didn't get a NYE invite from the TAj. I had no intention of going anyway and didn't bother to ask why but it's evident.
They are trying to sell room packages for $699 instead.
Last year I was told they were left with quite a few empty rooms. I wonder why LOL

I'm honestly starting to believe that there is a course for upper management in how to alienate customers and from the looks of things they are quick learners
The bombard you with $10 coin coupons and toasters and think that this offers some form of an incentive to come down and spend hundreds if not thousands.
I think they have totally forgotten that you have to spend money to make money.
I suppose its a lot easier to sit back and blame smoking bans, the economy and the price of gas for all their woes.
