All Scanners need to be calibrated with the monitor and printer they are being used with. An excellent looking scan can look awful on another monitor and print awful on the system it looks great on. which is another reason to make sure to calibrate - color match your monitor and printer also. A scanner manufacturer has no idea what monitor you are using, and even if they did, monitors of the same model even differ side by side. Do a google search on Scanner, monitor, printer calibration. here is the 1st one i came up with
