When you read John Benedict's post, he hit's the nail on the head as well. There are just some that feel compelled to obey because of the pressure. It's not slabbing that will ruin a hobby, its people that will ruin a hobby. And many will do so regardless if they are pro-slabbers or anti-slabbers.
I didn't start collecting chips to make friends nor enemies. Fortunately and Unfortunately I have made both along the way. There are people that I won't speak with or buy chips from. There are those that won't speak to me or have any desire to do business with me. But I don't seek pledges from people to blackball people I don't get along with or like the way they conduct themselves or their business.
And finally, yes, not only am I passionate about the hobby, But I'm willing to stand up to those that I believe have no real interest in anything other than furthering their own position, personal agenda and power regrdless if it costs me a friendship or two along the way.
