This is why I cant understand the values people are quoting for silver in silver strikes.
An older style strike contained 0.6 regular oz silver. That is 0.546 troy oz.
The bid/offer spread on REAL silver is 10% or over. After fees, the max that can be obtained for .999 silver as scrap is 82% of spot.
So if silver is at $20, the scrap value of an older strike is $8.95. For a more recent one it is only $7.46.
Silver spot is currently $19.24. Value of the 10oz bars to sell is therefore $157.77.
Ive got a couple of those bars with Nevada Bank stamps on them, they are nice.
