The first is "Roll the Bones: The History of Gambling" by Dr. David G. Schwartz writer, historian, and Director of the Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (www.dieiscast.com). It details the 5000 year history of human gaming. It is filled with great details & stories. The book contains very little specific to casino chips/tokens but don't let that stop you from reading it if you enjoy gaming history.
The second is "Without Reservation" by Jeff Benedict. It details how the Western Pequot Tribe was recreated by lawyers who, without any real proof, duped the Federal government into recognizing them as a tribe. Then they fought the Connecticut state government to create the Foxwoods casino, got slot machines by saving the state during a financial crisis & lost to several local towns when trying to annex land into their reservation. Nothing about chips at all in this book but another good historical book.
Neither of these books is in the library so check your local town branch.
Thanks for looking, have a fantastic day.
