There was a time in our club's history where a suggestion was made that there are just too many members who are not renewing membership... at which time there was another suggestion made tat asked that a few of us (myself included) be given the mailing addresses/phone numbers of those who have dropped out... I suggested that I would handle Florida. Jim sent us the contact info we needed and we went from there; and what little responses I received inclued the term "bickering" to the extent that there was just too much of it. I believe this was about the time "The Roulette Wars" were going down... along with other matters pertaining to maintaining chip collections. That following January on the floor of the F.U.N. Convention in Orlando, FL, where I manned our club hospitality table for a few years to expose us to the world of Numismatics, past members who visited the convention would always stop by our club table to visit and shoot the bull; chip talk and health issues were the main topics, and when Iwould bring up renewing membership I had a few of the same responses that I received later on by those past club members with one response sticking in my mind. Mr X said: "Though I still enjoy the hobby and coming to FUN to trade with other chippers, I'd rather keep it at just that and not get involved again with any issues that would turn me off." I rememer that as if it were only yeasterday... I'm not the only person who has heard this tone besides you.
