High enough score for her to pick any school she likes for the next 5 to 7 years ABSOLUTELY FOC.
Given that one of the best schools in the country is 10 minutes walk from home it is not hard to choose
This particular school also has 6th form (thats what you call 'college') so she can stay there right through until age 18.

For those that dont quite understand, yes we have a state education system in the UK.
90% of the country has single stream comprehensive education and if you dont like it you go private and pay!!

For the other 10%, including us, you have elite 'Grammar schools' where you dont get in if you dont pass the exam no matter how much $$ youve got
If you fail you go to comprehensive school with far lower standards.

The school she will go to, Sir William Borlase Grammar School, has produced many famous people over the years (I am told )
I know that 5 current NASA scientists came from there, which is pretty outstanding, and that a staggering 20% of pupils from the school gain scholarships to Oxford or Cambridge Universities.
