As someone who worked in the old Tiberius... I have some bad news for you.
The club is closed now... as the only casino to be below sea level, the great flood of 1995 meant the owners (The Rank Group) relocated the casino to Gunwharf Quays. The building still lies empty and decaying.
Anyways... here's the club's history.
Opened in 1969 as the South Parade Casino... owned by the South Parade Casino group.
In 1973 the South Parade Casino became one of the first 8 Pleasurama Group's casino operations and was rebranded in 1974 as Club Tiberius to match the attached Nero's Nightclub also owned by Pleasurama.
Through buyouts in the early 90's by Mecca & then Rank it retained it's name until 1995 when all of the former Pleasurama casinos (Trading as Tiberius, Soames, Cromfords, Sgt Yorke's) were rebranded as Grosvenor Casinos.
Despite a major refit in 1997... continued seawater floods condemned the old Tiberius to a water grave in 2003.
There were never chips branded with the Tiberius name... all chips were Pleasurama generics (Scroll mold clay & Bud Jones CIC's)
The pic below is a colour chip, a 5UKP scroll & 1UKP BJones + a Grosvenor Chipco (unquiet to Southsea) from the old club.
hope this helps
Ross
