I didn't realize that the denomination is discolored on the Sierra Tahoe chip? You may be right about the glue, but I don't see any signs of glue residue (tho' I didn't get out the loupe). James' book says that many of the chips are severely water damaged...if someone left a soggy chip in the sun, that could account for all the damage.
