my thoughts as well. I do have a very extensive half dollar collection. Some very choice pieces and most fairly commoner pieces. But as a collection very impressive. And total value a good chunk. But I started collecting when I was around 12 and it has been a love for me. My son is "sort" of interested but his love is the elongated pennies. Not my thing but I help him when I can. I wonder when I am gone what will happen to one of the loves of my life. My wife has zero interest in any of my hobbies. She is happy that I have something to do that pleases me.
My hobbies are coins, silver strikes and recently chips. I buy to either keep, or to sell so I can get something I really want. Like most of us.
I have thought of but have yet to do is talk to a coin dealer I know and have instructions in my will for whom ever in the family to contact this coin dealer and he will help to liquidate my collection. As a option and also sort of have each piece valued out. Easy with price guides I guess.
