Many of the newer machines are using slots that do not require the full insertion of your card because of this. BUT that does not eliminate the risk the millions of older ATM's out there.

Also, I have seen on news reports that these tiny 'spy cams' are also used to see your PIN as you enter it. That way no one is around for you to identify after your card gets stuck in the machine.

Whatever safeguards are in place a criminal will surely find a way around- be as safe as you can & and at least REDUCE the odds.
