I've received "empty envelopes" from both eBay sales and personal sales in the past -- even club members. Not much you can do other than cross your fingers once the item is in the hands of the post office. You certainly can't blame the seller and stick them with 100% of the USPS loss. It seems that the only alternative is to purchase insurance from the sender, but that's never economical. Just my 2¢.
