He made it clear to me that he liked the "open" approach and he wanted anyone to be able to post a message without having to jump through a bunch of hoops. (At the end of the conversation, he basically told me it was his board and he would keep running it that way! ). I told him I respected that and we never discussed it again. He knew that I knew how he wanted his board to operate.
I do have some ideas on the back end on how to control or at least slow down the biggest part of the spam that's coming in. This idea wouldn't affect how users make a post or change anything from the user's point of view. As soon as I get caught up at my work, I'll try to get something in place.
